The kind of music we listen to can tell a lot about us. The University of Texas conducted research in which college students participated in order to find out whether musical preferences depend on a person's character traits. How are music and psycho connected?

Music Choice by University of Texas Students

• Extroverts mostly listen to beautiful music with vocals.
• "Esoteric" or "complex" music is preferred by students who consider themselves sophisticated.
• Students who listen to "regular" music call themselves conservative.
• Energetic music is loved by students for whom sport is a style and way of life.
• A variety of music is listened to by those people who are open to everything new and are not afraid of experiments.

In general, our choice of music is most often influenced by the mood, but, as a rule, all musical preferences are within the framework of one music category. Not only music and psychotype are connected, but also intellect. The more the intellect is developed, the more complex compositions can be found in music collections. And vice versa. That is, if you listen only to pop music from morning to night, then it is quite difficult for others to suspect you of great mental abilities.
