Video: Dress For Subpersonality. Rules For Choosing Clothes "for Yourself" And "for Others" - Image, Society
Maybe some have skeletons in their closets, while others have materialized ideas of glossy magazines, a work dress code, husband's sexual fantasies and personal common sense in the form of jeans and comfortable jumpers. How many things are in your wardrobe that you like? Consider dresses for subpersonality
By a person's wardrobe, one can determine which of his subpersonalities prevails among the rest. For example, a business wardrobe demonstrates the image of "I am an employee" or "I am a manager."
There can be at least two motivations when creating your wardrobe: image and self-embodiment. If with the first everything is more or less clear - it is necessary to impress others for certain purposes - then with the idea of self-incarnation, things are much more complicated. The boundaries between clothing “for oneself” and “for others” are so blurred that it is not so easy to unambiguously separate these two motivations.
CLOTHING FOR OTHERS
If, looking at your wardrobe in the morning and choosing an ensemble, you are guided by what impression you make, then you are dressing for others and your Ego. And it loves roles, masks and games. It clings to them in order to finally relate itself to something. For example, "I am Svetlana Grafskaya, image maker." My profession can be so inseparable from myself that at home I will already be “in character” or in informal communication play the role of a pro, giving out expert advice. Such deformations can be found in someone who identifies himself so much with his work that even on vacation he tweets about his achievements. A person will strive to support his images of a professional, wife, fashionista, macho or enlightened person with the help of clothing. If you dress differently at home, for a visit or in the office, then part of your wardrobe is definitely an image one. Style, which reflects the essence of your self, one. It is easier for a person to create an image for himself, reflecting in others, since he has a feeling that he exists at all. Several times they said that you are a "bitch", and so the subpersonality was born. We often strive to look with other people's expectations in mind. The phrase "First you create the image, and then the image works for you" can be a trap.
CLOTHES FOR YOURSELF
I never tire of repeating: "Finding your style is finding yourself." Finding yourself is a lifelong journey. Note that we are not talking now about those people who dress only for protection from the weather. Oddly enough, but the less a person pays attention to clothes and thinks before buying it, the more vividly his individual style manifests itself. I want to point out right away that style is not only beauty, harmony and conformity to fashion. This is a reflection of individuality in an external form, namely individuality, not personality. Personality is a social phenomenon. Image is essential for effective interaction with people. But! It is one thing when a person is formed on the basis of an understanding of his individuality, and another thing when "individuality" is fashioned at the expense of a social role-mask. Style is always primary - self-embodiment in visual form,- and then the image. Individuality - the inner essence, the content - cannot remain hidden inside without flowing into the form. But first you need to know it, and only then start to embody. The choice of clothing "for oneself" changes with the person, as well as his ideas about himself and his goals.
The image is always based on the goal, the desired impressions and the result. The image is strategically planned, and the style is born. Revealing the style is a creative process, it is like playing "hot and cold". A person seems to listen: "Does this thing correspond to my state, my sensations and feelings?" One and the same clothing style can be a role-playing image model, or it can be a true embodiment of individuality. It all depends on the starting point when choosing an external image. The sense of style is not sought in fashion magazines and programs, but inside. Nobody will invest it for you from the outside. It can only be developed along with the knowledge of oneself, others and nature.
Protection and comfort
At a basic level, clothing performs only a protective function - to protect the body from cold and bad weather. Speaking about the desire for comfort in clothes, a person often means just that.
Boys are dressed in blue, trousers and shirts. Girls - in pink, in dresses with skirts. Being a boy is also about looking the part. This also includes cultural and ethnicity. At this stage, clothes become a symbol of belonging to "friends".
At this stage, sometimes there is a desire to do everything in spite of. Is it vulgar? And I like it so much! Is this not accepted here? What does it matter to me? The phrase "And it's so convenient for me" also applies here. Someone after this transitional age still wears a piercing in the navel or a tattoo on the lower back. The meaning of such an impulsive act is not fully realized at that moment. At this stage, there are problems with analysis and reflection in general. In fact, if a teenager fell into the hands of a professional then, it would be possible to direct his energy in a constructive direction.
People often come to stylists when the entire wardrobe is full of spontaneous purchases, and there are no right ensembles. But there is already an understanding of your body type, capsule, rational wardrobe, your color palette. At this stage, rules and regulations become central to clothing. They are also dictated by fashion, experts, and the position held.
When it becomes boring to dress according to the rules, a person begins to look at clothes more creatively, but still based on strategic goals. Clothing becomes an element of impression management, display of status and prestige. Fashionable - emphasizes her exclusivity and advancement, it becomes important to “be in trend”. Who is “on the wave”, who controls information, is successful. And this is important for this stage. Therefore, for better socialization, people seek help from image makers. His own style has not yet matured to the desired level, and ambitions and plans are already setting a high bar.
Sustainability and spirituality
In a frantic rhythm, a person feels that he is beginning to lose his individuality. Internal mental comfort is gradually becoming more important. Often among people of this level you can see adherents of natural and ethnic styles. It becomes important how environmentally friendly the item is, where and how the cotton was grown and used for clothing. Often they refuse leather and fur, they begin to prefer ethnic motives, usually oriental.
A person ceases to identify himself with a specific image. Clothing for him becomes a natural form of self-expression. A person consciously forms his wardrobe, which may also have such an image task as to make an impression. But not for his own sake, but for the sake of his life purpose or even mission.
