Sex is an important part of the life of each of us. And everyone worries what forms it will take in the near future. Progress changes people, people change their attitude to family values, sex, relationships, non-traditional formats of love. And with the development of virtual reality, the emergence of numerous "smart" gadgets and humanoid robots, questions about what place all this digitalization will take in the family and sexual life of people suggests itself. We asked famous sexologists to give their analysis of what awaits us

Inna Roizman

Psychologist-sexologist, psychotherapist, candidate of psychological sciences, member of the British Psychological Society

“As before, everything was simple: God put Adam before Eve and said:“Choose your wife …”We can only assume how our first parents made love. They had no examples before their eyes, most likely they learned this from nature. But it was precisely the thirst for novelty, the desire for knowledge, because of which they were so hastily expelled from paradise, that forced them to improve. They not only tried, they began to share knowledge - first in the form of rock paintings, then moved on to sculpture with sex differences, and then the first recordings appeared. Ovid's Science of Love was written at the beginning of the 1st century, the famous Kamasutra - from the 3rd-4th centuries, the treatise "Peach Branches" - in the 15th century.

And if the values of the family as a unit of society in a primitive society prevented the survival of the clan, then the commune was better suited for hunting a mammoth, protecting from tigers and general care for the younger generation.

Nature needs variety. She needs you to exchange DNA with more partners and produce more children with completely different genetic makeup. It was the breadth of reproduction that ensured the survival of the human population. A large number of offspring gave a chance for the quality of procreation

But the development of civilization has made its own adjustments. People began to find it offensive to share their partner while they were providing food for the family. Or they were afraid that the prey brought might not be enough for their blood child. So the development of civilization strengthened family values.

Now, before our eyes, there is an acceleration of technologies, the development of other realities, where people do not need a breadwinner and a caring partner to survive, conceive and raise a child. You no longer need a partner to get pleasure, an altered state of consciousness is enough.

What does this mean? It is possible that if the speed of development of technologies replacing living people for us grows, then the presence of a second person in the family as an atavism may die out. And then pure technologies will enter the arena, giving a person the opportunity with all senses to feel the pleasure of virtual sex

Hormones responsible for arousal, pleasure, a kind of cocktail with different absorption times will be used, so that in a sequential cycle a person feels desire, excitement, tension, orgasm and discharge. All this will be selected with precision according to tastes, temperament and physiological characteristics of a person. Already, there are studies by Elon Musk with the use of brain neural networks.

Artificial pseudo-people will help a person to satisfy his body in the most refined ways, acting on all receptors for the perception of reality: sounds, images, smells, touches will be worked out to obtain an ideal result. In approximately the same way as the techniques for docking air ships in open space have been worked out now, all the nuances will be taken into account. Mass production will make them as affordable as Coca-Cola is now, which costs less than water.

The question remains - what will happen to love in the future? Love will remain only for the elect, for those who can give up their own selfishness. Capable of giving, not just taking. Regardless of what a person will choose - to live as a family or separately, to have sex with a loved one or with a gadget - the most important thing is that in the future he has a choice.

Evgeny Kashchenko

Head of the Interdisciplinary Department of Sexology, Scientific Secretary of the RNSO, Doctor of Sociological Sciences, Professor

“In the absence of competent sexual education of modern adolescents, sex of the future new infantile generation from the boom of social networks will oust traditional sex with a living partner. People will grow up even later, completely stop striving for a traditional family and serious sexual partnerships.

In the future, people will not perceive the family as a habitual state for having sex for the purpose of procreation, a form of mutual support and a way to survive in this world.

The time of the future will be adorned with the presence of tempting cybersex, regular masturbation practice, online communication for having sex anywhere, anytime

Pornography will move from the category of prohibited information into the routine practice of self-arousal to relieve sexual tension or release semen and eggs for life.

Boys and girls will begin to forget the concept of "love" in the information flow that falls on them. There will be no time left for erotic and sexual feelings for each other, mutual bodily touch. The sense of responsibility in a couple will disappear, everyone will think only of themselves, selfishness will break the sense of responsibility.

The planetary demographic crisis will be solved by sperm banks, artificial insemination, surrogacy, and in vitro fertilization

The upbringing of children will be transferred to state and commercial socialization bodies. Incubators for birth will appear, then - kindergartens, orphanages to select those who are more capable of creative work. Those who are not interested in this regard will simply be consumers.

The line between men and women will be erased, people will possess masculine and feminine qualities as they wish. People who love each other and their sex will be shown in fantastic feature films. They will become extremely rare

Silently masturbating herds of people with gadgets in their hands and headphones in their ears will start eating, drinking, looking at screens and going shopping."

Yuri Prokopenko

Doctor-sexologist and sex therapist, candidate of medical sciences, psychotherapist, researcher at the Moscow Research Institute of Psychiatry

“What sex will be like in the next 50 years depends on two factors: how normal sex before and outside marriage among women will be, and how much swearing will spread in everyday life.

Society has already passed the first stage of modern depersonalization of sex: this is a weak male limitation in this regard. Moreover, the sermons that a man is polygamous and is simply supposed to do this undermine the family nature of sex quite actively. But for women, morality is still more conservative, and this keeps sex within the framework of, if not love, then at least something neighboring.

If pseudo-emancipation and a new sexual revolution remove restrictions, then sex will completely break away from feelings. It will become a physiological detail of everyday life, not focused on marriage, feelings, childbirth

Accordingly, marriage will be on its own, and sex will be on its own. How much they will depend on each other is unclear, but they are likely to diverge further.

Robots and other gadgets for sex will change the attitude towards sex as a phenomenon associated with feelings, relationships, morality. Although vibrators did not defeat partner sex, robotic lovers (lovers) will not supplant it, and they will not be reflected in the marriage bond.

I imagine the sex of our grandchildren as a rather conveyor-type activity that does not play such a big role in choosing a marriage partner as it does now. There will be a lot of individual or partner cyber things, but they will not outweigh the importance of the relationship of permanent partners

Perhaps love will be seen in a completely different way, and robots will help to reduce the significance of any discrepancies in the sexuality of the spouses."
