If you happen to get into a place of congestion of schoolchildren (a children's clinic, the Palace of Culture, a subway car in which the class moves), you are likely to experience mixed feelings: it looks both funny and frightening the way children run their fingers on their smartphone screens, barely being distracted by short communication with each other
Friend or foe?
The tablet has undeniable advantages: this small, lightweight device contains all the equipment so necessary for children (in their opinion): a player, a camera, a telephone, as well as a world encyclopedia that helps them a lot in mastering new knowledge ("excuse" for parents).
There is also a downside to the coin: the overwhelming majority of children use a tablet to play games, communicate on social networks and view various content, which often does not carry an informative load. In itself, this is not so sad. However, there are two obvious negative aspects of such gatherings on the Web:
- Virtual communication replaces the real one. It is difficult for children to build relationships, it is difficult to find points of contact with each other, it is difficult to be themselves. And here's a vicious circle: this skill does not appear, since there is no live communication, and without this, an inner fear of not being an interesting interlocutor grows.
- "Unscrupulous" people, under the guise of obscurity and a touch of mystery, sometimes have the opportunity to harm gullible guys: deception, an attempt to use, the formation of complexes. This danger can come from unhealthy, cynical adults or from sneering “advanced” peers.
Progress cannot be stopped
Why did such a close connection between technology and the new generation emerge very quickly? Vernadsky believed that a part of the earth's biosphere is the area of knowledge - the noosphere, in which the scientific and cultural knowledge of mankind (mathematics, physics, music, etc.) is accumulated. From time to time, people who have the most developed special sensitivity (like electromagnetic) "connect" to it.
We call them talented, gifted or brilliant. Such people are like an antenna on a TV. And through the "receiving devices" - illumination, insight, inspiration - both scientific discoveries and what later become masterpieces of art and culture come to these people. If you stick to this theory, you can say that the current generation of children is more "electrified". And that's why they so quickly find a common language with technology. We are talking about them "early".
By example
It would seem that we have just come to the conclusion that our generation of children is doomed not to get out of gadgets. And we ourselves use these fruits of civilization. But! We still remember what a pastime without a smartphone is like. And we remember these moments with a feeling of pleasant nostalgia mixed with bitterness that our children cannot learn all the sincerity and recklessness of childhood and adolescence.

Who is guilty? We! We use our smartphone as a calming agent when our toddler is loud or moody in public. We hand over a tablet to the child when we need to do urgent work, and he distracts us. And children quickly penetrate into a new universe for them. At first, we are touched: our baby cannot yet button up his clothes on his own, but he is perfectly oriented in the phone. And only when the "techno world" becomes its only world, we begin to sound the alarm.
Fill the void
You cannot take away from a child a part of his usual life in the hope that everything will change overnight. As soon as we remove the tablet, a void is formed. How can we fill this vacuum? The answer on the surface is yourself. To do this, first of all, we ourselves will have to put our smartphone / tablet / laptop aside. Even if we absolutely need it for our work. After all, it is impossible to talk to a child, for example, about the dangers of smoking with a smoking cigarette in hand. Children don't listen, they watch. And they do not what they are told, but what the surrounding adults show them.
Rule 1. No family members have any gadgets!
If, nevertheless, there is a need to use a tablet for work, this is clearly stated. And a time of silence is assigned - a period when everyone turns off their devices. But while adults are using their tablets, kids will also have to make time online.
Rule 2. The time that was freed up in children must be filled.
Filling can be thematic circles, where the child will communicate with like-minded people (sports, modeling, music, etc.). Family means are as follows: communication (this is not asking about homework and about grades, this is talking about things that are important for the child and sharing with each other impressions of books, trips, walks), board games (this is a whole world: logical, strategic, economic, entertainment, family or dueling, solo or for a large company), walks, poetry evenings. Everything is limited only by your imagination.
