The neurotic is different from the neurotic. According to Karen Horney's typology, people of this kind use one of three strategies: humility, "retirement" and invasion. The first two options have nothing to fear - neurotics avoiding reality themselves fenced off from the outside world, doze out communication with people, prefer not to stick their heads out. With the help of a motivator, they persuade themselves - they have to work, everything will be fine. They are excellent performers, neat and pedant.
It is worse if you have to interact with a neurotic invader. He is guided by neurotic pride, which develops into self-idealization, a rigid system of prescriptions - the tyrannical "must" and "must not."
