GRAPHOLOGIST COMMENTARY

Practical or theoretical approaches to life largely determine our thinking. The applied type of thinking is characterized by concreteness (detail) of perception, realistic, materialistic worldview. A person with this kind of thinking knows how to work out the details well, delves into all the details, sometimes to the point of meticulousness and pedantry. Feeling good in today's day, he sees worse prospects, is weaker in strategy.

The theoretical type of worldview is largely determined by abstract thinking. In this case, on the contrary, more attention is paid to the general and global than to the specific and detailed. A person with abstract thinking is inclined to theorize, engage in speculative activity. While somewhat ignoring the present day, it is more focused on future projects. At the same time, working out the details does not interest him at all: choosing more creative and conceptual tasks for himself, he often leaves the routine for others.

The division of thinking into types is always conditional, synthetic thinking (combinations of different types) is most often encountered in life. Nevertheless, the proportions of these species differ: the dominant species always sets the general direction of human activity.

In handwriting, when determining the dominant type of thinking, it is necessary to pay attention to the writing style (in particular, the peculiarities of writing letters):

- With concrete thinking, the letters are prescribed in detail, in a standard way (as in writing), specifically. The external impression of the handwriting: solidity, heaviness. Angles, straight lines dominate.

- With abstract thinking, the writing style becomes less specific and written out, there are many indistinct, non-specific letters, unfinished elements. General impression of handwriting: abstractness, blurring, generalization. All this is combined with the lightness of handwriting, an abundance of thin, barely noticeable thread-lines.

Sample 1: domination of concrete thinking, practice.

Sample 2: dominance of abstract thinking, theorist.

Sample 3: synthetic kind of thinking: the concrete kind is slightly more dominant over the abstract one (which is also clearly manifested). Practitioner + theorist. The handwriting belongs to V. I. Lenin.

The winner of the competition is rudama, who quite accurately explained the pattern between a practical, concrete attitude to life and the manifestation of the same concreteness, clarity and down-to-earthness in the writing style.
